Recalibrate Men's Retreat

6th - 8th of September

An opportunity to recalibrate. Jump in the boat, go for a paddle, shake out the tensions, have a yarn…

Have you ever felt that the weight is all on your shoulders? Maybe it's what you've been telling yourself. That it's up to you to come up with the goods.

The Orama Men's Retreat is a weekend for men to step away and connect with others over recreations or around the BBQ, and connect with the One who promises to strengthen us.
With opportunities to soak into the presence of God, and with the Hauraki Gulf on our doorstep and a couple of chefs cooking up a storm - you won't be disappointed!

Meals

At Orama we have two chefs. We know … we are blessed!!
All your meals will be prepared with aroha that you will feel, see, smell, and most definitely taste! The wow factor is guaranteed, and there are no dishes (well, there will be, but none that you'll be doing!). We can cater for most dietary requirements. Please let us know on application your specific needs/allergies. There is an additional $20 per day for dietary meals.

Facilities + Recreation

Fishing - Grab a rod, or bring your own with you. The exhilaration of pulling up a snapper or kahawai or bring a spear and get yourself a Kingi?? Mmmmm - doesn't get much fresher than straight out of the sea!

Kayaks, Paddleboards, Snorkel and Masks - There's something undeniably awesome about navigating around the rugged coastline or diving into the underwater world of our stunning bay. Definitely an opportunity not to be missed.

Soak in our hot tub - The ultimate addition to relaxation at Orama. Our wood-fired hot tub is perfect for unwinding. Imagine yourself under the stars in our Dark Sky Sanctuary, taking it all in. You won't want to miss this.

Brazier/Campfire - Nothing beats the classic experience of making s'mores around a campfire. If the weather's not cooperating, our lodge lounge has the cosiest fireplace around. And if you're in the mood for a movie, we've got you covered there too.

Hiking trails - There are numerous short hikes right from Orama. The Orama lookout is always a crowd favourite - overlooking Little Barrier and the Hauraki Gulf. From there, you could then carry on down to Onewhero Bay, a beautiful sandy beach with the biggest Pohutukawa you've ever seen. Or, on the other side of Orama, walk to the Glenfern Bird Sanctuary with stunning native bush, a swing bridge to a huge Kauri tree and a viewing platform over the gully. Windy Canyon is slightly further away from Orama, but definitely worth the effort. A jaw-dropping walk - even if you only have 5 minutes!

Chapel -Up on the hill overlooking the bay. A wee haven for prayer and contemplation. A quiet space for you to spend time in a way that best suits you with God.
