SEPTEMBER 13TH - 15TH

A rejuvenating getaway.

Relaxation in a breathtaking location.

Nutritious meals thoughtfully prepared for you, and there are no dishes!

We know that as women the treadmill called life can be tough. Amongst the hustle of family, work, church, ministry, friends and commitments there can be a deep struggle to keep up and keep going, and even deeper need for genuine connection with others and with God.

Refresh Women's Retreat is an opportunity to pour back into you.
An opportunity to rest into the presence of God, into the refreshing of nature, and the lifting of new and old friends and fun experiences.

We know that God is faithful and His heart is for us.

Our prayer is that Refresh Women's Retreat would be a gift of stepping away for a weekend, and when you return you are Refreshed and ready for your real world.

What you can expect

Refresh Women's Retreat will be hosted at Orama on Aotea, Great Barrier Island.
We are a paradise away from the hurry and hectic of mainland life, where nature surrounds, the water is on our doorstep, the Kākā and Tūi chortle in the trees, the hiking trails begin and most importantly where rest comes easily.

At Refresh there will be opportunities both for rest and recreation along with times for restoration in worship and communion with God and other women.

  • The Woolshed Art studio with inspiration and assistance from some of our Orama artists

  • A peaceful paddleboard or kayak around the bay at sunset, or a snorkel if you're keen

  • A blat on the boat and see some of Aotea's stunning coastline from the water

  • Soak in a hot tub on the waterfront

  • S'mores and conversation around the campfire

  • Worship and prayer in the lounge

  • Learning to hear and journal the voice of God speaking to you

Meals

At Orama we have two chefs. We know … we are blessed!!
All your meals will be prepared with aroha that you will feel, see, smell, and most definitely taste! The wow factor is guaranteed, and there are no dishes (well, there will be, but none that you'll be doing!). We can cater for most dietary requirements. Please let us know on application your specific needs/allergies. There is an additional $20 per day for dietary meals.

Facilities + Recreation

Wooshed Art Studio - Where you can get into all things creative. With your Refresh registration you will have access to resources for a range of mixed media supplies, tools and canvases.

Kayaks, Paddleboards, Snorkel and Masks - There is something very special about a quiet and peaceful paddle around the coastline or heading to explore the underwater world of our beautiful bay. Definitely an opportunity not to be missed.

Soak in our hot tub - The newest addition to relaxation therapy at Orama. Our wood-fired hot tub. Picture yourself gazing at the milky way from our Dark Sky Sanctuary location. You will be wowed.

Brazier/Campfire - S'mores around a fire never gets old, and if the weather doesn't suit we also have the coziest fire in our lodge lounge, and if a movie calls, that's an option too.

Hiking trails - There are numerous short hikes right from Orama. The Orama lookout is always a crowd favourite - overlooking Little Barrier and the Hauraki Gulf. From there you could then carry on down to Onewhero Bay with beautiful white sand and the biggest Pohutukawa you've ever seen. Or on the other side of Orama walk to the Glenfern Bird Sanctuary with stunning native bush, a swing bridge to a huge Kauri tree and viewing platform over the gully. Slightly further afield from Orama, but definitely worth the effort is Windy Canyon. A jaw-dropping walk - even if you only have 5 minutes!

Chapel - Up on the hill overlooking the bay. A wee haven for prayer and contemplation. A peaceful space for you to spend time in a way that best suits you with God.
