At summer camp you can enjoy swimming, kayaking, hiking, or simply soaking up the beauty of nature. Take part in shared worship, creative moments, and fireside fun. Nourishing meals prepared with aroha help you find a refreshing rhythm away from everyday busyness. Expect joy, peace, laughter, and memories that last a lifetime.

Dive into adventure at Orama Summer Camp with kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking, beach trips, and epic games on the lawn. Cool off on the giant waterslide and join in for smores and songs by the fire. Whether you’re chasing thrills or quiet moments, there’s something here for everyone.

What type of camp is this?

This is a Christian camp focused on unplugging from daily life, reconnecting with God, family, and nature. It includes worship times, devotions, and outdoor activities in a peaceful island setting.

Where is the camp located?

The camp is held at Orama on Great Barrier Island, New Zealand.

What should I pack?

  • Sunblock and insect repellent
  • Torch for each family member
  • Swimming gear (togs, goggles, snorkels, flippers)
  • Sandals for foreshore exploring
  • Hiking/walking shoes
  • For tent sites: tent, sleeping bags, air mattress/stretchers

Meals & Dietary

Are meals included?
⇒Yes, all meals are included and prepared by two on-site chefs.
Can you cater for dietary requirements?
⇒Yes. Please specify needs on your application. Additional costs may apply for specialist dietary meals.

Transport

How do I get to Great Barrier Island?
⇒Return ferry from Sandspit is included in the price — no extra transport to arrange.

Accommodation

What accommodation options are available?
⇒Three types: tent sites (BYO), Bunk room cabins and lodge/Whalers cabins rooms with shared facilities. All towels and linen are provided for Lodge and whalers.
Are places limited?
⇒Yes. Accommodation is allocated first-come, first-served. A 20% deposit secures your spot.
