Internships at Orama

Want 2027 to be a year of real change, adventure and growth?

Orama 6-Month Internship Programme 2027

The Orama 6-Month Internship Programme is designed to provide young Christian adults with a transformative experience that integrates practical service, community life, and deep spiritual formation. Interns will live on-site, serve in key operational areas of the Orama community, and participate in the Orama Academy 12 Discipleship School – The Way at no cost. Food and accommodation are fully provided.

This programme is intended to:

  • Develop Christlike character through discipleship, community rhythms, and practical service.
  • Equip interns with hands-on skills in hospitality, kitchen service, gardening, and community care.
  • Provide spiritual formation and biblical training through the Discipleship Training Programme.
  • Foster leadership, responsibility, and vocational clarity.

What the Internship Involves

Interns become part of the day-to-day life of Orama. You will work alongside our team to help host guests, support community rhythms, and keep the village running. This includes practical service in areas such as:
  • Hospitality and hosting
  • Kitchen support
  • Event and retreat set-up
  • Community care tasks
  • Supporting gatherings and devotional spaces
The goal is to help you develop a servant-hearted attitude, grow confidence, and learn real-life skills that support Christian ministry and community living. Interns serve around 30 hours per week during practical phases of the programme.

Grow in Faith Through Orama Academy

As part of the internship, you will have the opportunity to join the Orama Academy 12-week Discipleship School – The Way. The Way runs for 12 weeks and includes teaching sessions, devotions, small groups and mentoring.

Life on Great Barrier Island
